Large scale project experience
• Key member of a small team undertaking a residential rezoning for a 123ha parcel of land that is currently zoned Industrial via a 2012 PSP. Whilst a structural rezoning of land within a PSP is unprecedented, our team is confident of success now the application is being exhibited.
• Delivery of over 500 residential lots from planning application through to construction. My team delivered first six stages of Shearwater on the Island, Cowes. This project had many obstacles including:
o a declared RAMSAR wetland downstream
o flora and fauna issues
o significant site filling
o Potential Acid Sulphate Soils (PASS)
o Local objectors
o unusually high & consistent rainfall during construction and;
o the civil contractor going bankrupt
In spite of these obstacles, we managed to meet and exceed our client’s expectations,
including a UDIA award for the project.
• Delivery of the cadastral and feature survey component for three high rise towers which contained over 1000 residential apartments. The role includes discussions with the council and architect.
Provision of acquisition and development input to clients
• Provided background research, urban & civil design advice and development costings for a successful 200 hectare acquisition within in the south eastern growth area.
• Reviewed the sales pattern of an estate with the developer. This resulted in a successful planning application amendment to increase the remaining number of lots by 18, a 20% increase, with minimal increase in development expenses.
